Welcome to the website of Newbridge Academy

I would like to warmly welcome you to Newbridge Academy.  Newbridge Academy is an outstanding special school for pupils aged 2 to 19 years, who have severe and complex learning differences.

At Newbridge all of our pupils will develop their communication and independence with an emphasis on what the pupils ‘Can do’.

Split over two sites our Lower School provides an exciting foundation to pupils learning with a range of fun activities and resources. We are passionate about forming relationships with our pupils and their families so we really know each unique child’s background, interests and motivators. Every child will start their school life in a safe and stimulating learning environment that will help form a lifelong love of learning.

Our Upper School builds upon these relationships and interests developing their cognitive skills, social skills and levels of independence. By providing a child-centred, stimulating and holistic curriculum, pupils will develop self-confidence and resilience both within school and in their wider community. Once in sixth form we focus on preparation for adulthood so our pupils leave Newbridge with the skills they need ready for their next destinations.

We are immensely proud of our school and its pupils and each small step of progress they make in their unique learning journeys.

We hope you enjoy looking at the website, please feel free to contact us if you would like to find out more about our work or request paper copies of some of the information.
Or alternatively please take a virtual visit around our schools

🏆 PFA Quiz Night Raises Over £400 for School Community!
9/02/2026 2:00 PM

Following a break of over a year, the PFA quiz night returned on Friday evening and proved to be a very successful event.

The quiz night was well attended by parents, carers, staff, friends and families, and raised over £400 in support of the school community. The evening brought people together in a relaxed and enjoyable setting, strengthening the strong sense of community that surrounds the school.

There has already been interest in holding another quiz night during the summer term, which the PFA will look into as plans progress.

We would like to thank everyone who helped make the event a success, including those who attended, contributed prizes for the raffle, and supported with setting up and clearing away on the night.

A special thank you goes to Paul Canon, our quiz master, and his wife, for leading a fun and well-organised evening that was enjoyed by all.
